Taco Bell Coming to Avenal with Goal of Opening by Year’s End

The City of Avenal has officially announced plans for a new Taco Bell restaurant at 701 Skyline Boulevard, located at the highly visible corner of Skyline Boulevard and Seventh Avenue.

According to a City of Avenal press release dated July 8, 2026, both the city and the developer are optimistic that construction can move forward quickly, with a goal of having the restaurant ready to open by the end of this year.

Meeting that timeline is also important because the owner must complete the project by December to receive the full package of development incentives connected to the project. The city’s press release confirms the year-end opening target, although it does not publicly explain all of the specific incentive requirements.

A National Franchise Invests in Avenal’s Growth

The proposed restaurant will be developed by L & R Bells, led by local franchise operator Taylor Loesch. The company’s portfolio includes Taco Bell locations in Kettleman City, Coalinga, and other California communities.

Loesch said the company had wanted to bring Taco Bell to Avenal for years, but finding the right location had been the main challenge.

“We believe Avenal is a community on the rise, and we’re excited to invest here,” Loesch said in the city’s announcement.

He also thanked the City Council, Mayor Alvaro Preciado, and city leadership for their support throughout the process.

The project is expected to transform a commercial lot into a new dining destination. City officials say the restaurant could create local jobs, increase sales tax revenue, and give residents another convenient option without having to leave town.

Local Business Owners Welcome the Announcement

The arrival of a nationally recognized franchise is being viewed by some local business owners as another sign of Avenal’s continued commercial growth.
